NCASS - LPG Safety Training for Event Professionals

NCASS have been delivering in-depth technical LPG safety workshops to environmental health officers or a year now, training 250 EHOs from across 80 local authorities. EHOs are taking forward this training to support their event safety initiatives and SAGs.
They have adapted the LPG safety workshop for EHOs into a workshop for event professionals, focusing on relevant set ups and scenarios and providing key safety advice and guidance.
The next LPG safety workshops dates are:
Wed 25th June 9.30am -1pm
Wed 9th July 9.30am -1pm
This training will help develop event teams to identify unsafe situations and support risk assessment controls.
There will be a chance to ask questions and discuss any real-life scenarios and NCASS will provide CPD certification upon completion of this training.
The training package costs for £150 per person.
Their comprehensive training package for the events sector includes:
- The online course “ Safe Use of LPG in Mobile and Outdoor Catering “ – an introduction to LPG safety.
- An advanced 3.5-hour remote workshop delivered by the NCASS Gas Safety Consultant, a Gas Safe LPG engineer, which will cover:
- Examples of real-life LPG incidents (fires/explosions -that have occurred due to the lack of safe practices).
- A technical summary of the LPG safety principles – including examples of good and bad practices.
- The “Six Safe Gas Safe Set Ups” plus an additional focus on LPG in wooden structures e.g. kiosks, Christmas market chalets.
- A focus on the highest risk appliances – deep fat fryers.
- Arrangements for bulk cylinders storage.
- LPG generators.
- Gas safety certification.
- Gas safe reporting procedures and enforcement examples.
